Help Save Little Sherifa
Meet Sherifa Little Sherifatu, affectionately called Sherifa, has been bravely battling a severe medical condition since infancy — Vaginal Fistula.
In 2017, Sherifa underwent her first surgery at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. Sadly, the surgery was not successful, and a second corrective operation was urgently needed before she turned 5. However, due to financial hardship, her family could not afford it.
Now approaching her 6th birthday, Sherifa continues to suffer. She must change diapers 4–5 times daily, but her family can barely afford one diaper a day, increasing her risk of infections and complicating her health even further.
How We Got Involved Through Portia Dedevi Bavon, a compassionate community health nurse caring for Sherifa, the Dekyem Henry Foundation was contacted for help.
